Sketch map of the central portion of Madagascar's west coast with the rivers, mountain ranges, and tribal villages roughly mapped. Based on the travels of Joseph Mullens, the Foreign Secretary of the London Missionary Society. Mullens's book, Twelve Months in Madagascar provided a level of detail about the country and its people never before received in Europe when it was published in 1875. This map was published in the Journal of the Royal Geographical Society to illustrate the places visited by the expedition.
