Miniature map of the Americas published by Jodocus Hondius Jr. in his 1616 edition of Petrus Bertius' Tabularum Geographicarum Contractarum.
Bertius had previously published several editions of this map in collaboration with Barent Langenes and Cornelis Claesz starting in 1596. Hondius, who was related to Bertius by marriage, published an updated edition of the work with slightly enlarged plates starting in 1616. These new editions are easily distinguished from the earlier Claesz editions by the large strapwork title which Hondius added. Coloured. [AMER2218]
