Attractive minature map of the Americas with Latin text on verso. A number of charming ships and sea monsters decorate the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. This map was published in Hondius's Atlas Minor, a pocket atlas reduced from the folio-sized Mercator/Hondius atlas. This is the first edition of the map, published in 1607. It is based on Hondius's 1606 map of the Americas, but with some decorative features and details lost during the reduction process.
