Attractive first edition map of Flanders based upon the work of Gerard Mercator (published in 1540).
The Inset map of ancient Walcheren and environs during the time of Guy I of Dampierre (Guidon Dampetra) who was Count of Flanders from 1251-1305. This area is now part of the Dutch province of Zeeland, home to the city of Middelburg.
