Cary's beautiful map map on two sheets joined shows the full extent of Russia in the Napoleonic period, from the Kamchatka Peninsula in the East to the shores of the Baltic Sea in the West. Features of particular interest is the detail present in modern Siberia and the territory East of the Caspian Sea, recently surveyed by Peter the Great's Great Northern Expedition first under Bering and Chirikov and followed by the de L'Isle brothers.
