| The last derivation of Braun and Hogenberg's 16th century plan of London, here amended with an English title and used by Edward Hatton to illustrate London before the Great Fire of London 1666. Hatton was a surveyor for a fire insurance company and compiled a two volume work entitled " A New View of London". Although the work was compiled in the 1680s and 90s it was not published until 1708 when an addenda was included with updates and the inclusion of another map which showed the progress that had been made rebuilding the city since the Fire. {LDN6066] |
