Description:

|
Small map showing the Theater of War during the Second Seminole War and together with the route of the military road from Camp Augusta to Fort Brooke. It was included in Captain Frederick Marryat's work "Diary in America". Marryat was a British naval officer during the Napoleonic Wars and is best known as one of the first authors of "Age of Sail" fiction; probably his best known work is "Mr. Midshipman Easy". This genre was later popularised by authors such as C.S. Forester with his Hornblower novels or Patrick O' Brian with his Aubrey/Mathurin books. [USA8893] |
