Description:

|
Fascinating diagram printed for the House of Commons by Luke Hansard & Sons detailing a scheme to develop what was to become Regent's Park. This design was developed by Thomas Leverton and his pupil Thomas Chawner. Leverton was Architect at the Department of Land Revenue. This scheme shows a large area for proposed barracks and most of the Park substantially developed. Possibly due to the expense involved, this scheme was never adopted, preference going to the design of the architect, Joseph Nash instead. Original hand colour. [LDN6239] |
