An exquisite pair of 2.75 inch English pocket globes in handsome stands, one terrestrial and one celestial. Attributed to George Adams Jr (Globe Maker to King George III), but with geography by Herman Moll. The plates for Moll's globe gores were sold to John Senex after Moll's death in 1732. George Adams Sr. then aqcuired them from Senex in 1755. The plates were subsequently modified at the request of Adams Jr. to include the track of Captian James Cook's voyage on the Endeavour (1768-71) and the new discoveries made, including New Zealand and New South Wales.
