Vintage map of Colorado showing mineral deposits, as well as promoting unexplored areas "where conditions are particularly favorable for prospecting". Published in association with the Colorado State Metal Mining Association and the Bureau of Mines. Geological information is credited to R.D. George, State Geologist, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
The Clason Map Co. of Denver, Colorado was founded by George Samuel Clason in 1918-19 upon his return from fighting in WWI. The company is renowned for having published America's first modern road atlas. The company eventually had branch offices in Chicago and Los Angeles, but failed to survive the Great Depression.
