Miniature map of Afghanistan beside a view of a group of riders passing through the infamous Khyber Pass.
This map is one of a series of collectible trade cards published by the Arbuckle Brothers Coffee Company, one of the largest coffee sellers in the United States in the 1890s. Every 1lb bag of Arbuckle Brothers coffee contained one of 50 different cards showing the principal nations of the world. Due to the success of these cards, the Arbuckle Co. later expanded the series to include 50 zoological cards showing animals from around the world, as well as 50 cards depicting US States and Territories. Customers were encouraged to buy more coffee in order to complete the set.
