| British Army map of Rangoon (Yangon) published by the British Twelfth Army in September, 1945 shortly after the end of WW2. Manuscript notations mark places of recreation for soldiers, including the YMCA, the cinema, a canteen, and the football ground. An area where Japanese prisoners of war were held is also marked. The notations suggest that this map was almost certainly used by a British soldier stationed in Rangoon at the end of the war. Printed colour. [SEAS4977] |
