|
Early and fine example of a map exhibiting the full Empire of Russia first unified by Peter the Great. Two sheets joined. Two panels on the lower left, one in French and the other in Latin, state the history of the formation of the Empire, first under Peter the Great and then consolidated under his daughter, Elizabeth of Russia. The map extends from the Baltic States in the west to the Kamchatka Peninsula in the east. A small cartouche of a shield bearing the double headed eagle of Peter the Great is present on the upper left. Original hand colour. SL[RUS2584] |
