Finely-engraved French sea chart of the Channel Islands, centred on Jersey, but also showing Guernsey, Herm, and Sark. Large inset of the Chausey Islands showing fortifications under construction. The adjacent coast of Normandy and Brittany is also shown on the map from Cherbourg to St. Malo, and including Mont St. Michel.
The decorative title cartouche bears aloft the royal coat of arms of France surrounded by flags and flower garlands. Published by Jean de Beaurain (1696-1771), Royal Geographer to Louis XV of France.
