Separately issued pictorial plan of Buenos Aires published with an illustrated border of important buildings. This promotional map is highly stylised with the city laid out in neat blocks; it bears an illustrated border on all sides highlighting important buildings within the city. It was published during Juan Peron's first term as president and indeed a printed version of his signature is present on the cartouche. His wife, Eva (Evita) Peron's, Foundation is one of the buildings highlighted on the border. Several other buildings promoted by or built by the president are also illustrated, binding them to the city's history. There are two quotes in Spanish, above Peron’s signature, presumably attributed to him. Finally, a note on the lower centre states that at this time, Buenos Aires had a population of approximately four million inhabitants. Printed colour. SL [SAM3392] |
