Covarrubias issued a series of maps of the region, each of which emphasized a particular aspect of the area. The whole work is entitled "Pageant of the Pacific" and the above map focuses on the ethnography. Charming, colourful vignettes are used to illustrate the people of such diverse countries as Canada, Australia, the United States, the South Sea Islands, Indonesia and China among many others.
