Description:

Large and beautiful map of Hispaniola, now divided between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, as well as the Turks & Caicos and the southern Bahamas. This map was first issued by Guillaume De L'Isle, Royal Geographer to the King of France, in 1725. This is a later edition, reissued by De L'Isle's successor, Philippe Buache. The island's roads, rivers, settlements, and mountains are marked according to the best French surveys of the period.
