Charming map of Hungary, Romania, and the Balkans. Based on a map first issued by Pieter van der Aa in 1713, but here republished in Amsterdam by the firm of Covens & Mortier.
The map is decorated with a title cartouche featuring two Hungarian men in traditional costume. An array of flags and weapons behind them represents Hungary's ongoing wars with the Ottoman Empire.
