Reduced version of Steen's important map of the Western Lands chronicling the route of Col. Dodge's expedition into the Indian Territories. The map extends from Leavenworth, Kansas to Pike's Peak in Colorado. It also includes parts of southern Nebraska and northern Okalahoma, New Mexico and Texas. Part of the Santa Fe Trail, the important wagon route from St. Louis to Santa Fe is marked on the map as well.
