The Clason Map Co. of Denver, Colorado was founded by George Samuel Clason in 1918-19 upon his return from fighting in Europe during WWI. The company is renowned for having published America's first modern road atlas, but their primary focus was maps of Colorado and its cities intended for visitors and early motorists. At their height the company had branch offices in Chicago and Los Angeles, but sadly the firm was unable to survive the Great Depression.
