Separately issued folding map of Jerusalem promoting the city as a tourist destination.
This attractive map has a very distinctive cover, showing the city upon a hand. The copyright for this map was granted as early as 1937 promoted by the Arab Tourist Agency and printed by the Commercial Press Jerusalem owned by F.T. Treitel. It was then issued throughout the 1940s but by the 1950s, the press had evidently changed hands as this edition of 1952 bears the name Tewfic Habesch as the owner. The map also has been updated to show the Armistice Line of 1948 to show the division of the city into Arab and Jewish controlled territory. A small section on the lower right shows United Nations controlled territory, namely Government House. Printed colour. SL [MEAST4392] |
