One of the earliest available maps of the state of Vermont only five years after its admission into the newly recognised United States.
Vermont had only just ceased its existence as the Vermont Republic and to become the fourteenth state of the United States in 1791. Geographically, the map is based on Matthew Carey’s map of 1795.
The is the first state of the map engraved by Roberts and part of the second atlas published domestically in the United States. [USA9198] |
