Rare 1743 John Overton edition of John Speed's handsome county map of Bedfordshire. Inset town plan of Bedford.
Overton acquired Speed's plates around 1713 and subsequently printed at least four variants of the atlas (c.1713, 1716, c.1720, and 1743). His imprint appear at the bottom of the page in place of earlier publishers. The original publication date of 1610 has been crudely removed.
