São Miguel Island nicknamed “The Green Island” is the largest in Azores. Its nickname derives from its fertile soils and pleasant climate, nurturing a wealth of vegetation. Santa Maria is the southernmost island in the Azores. It was the first island in the archepelago to be discovered.
On both islands points of anchorage have been noted as well as all of the churches. [AFR3905] |
