| An extraordinarily large 21-inch Swedish terrestrial globe raised on a turned spindle on a wooden, ebony-finished base. Brass calibrated half-meridian. Globes of this size are rare and this is a particularly fine example. It was published by the Wahlstrom & Widstand company in Stockholm and the cartography was provided by D. Reimers in Berlin. The sea currents are depicted and, on land, many rivers and highland areas are identified. Stands 38 inches tall. [GLOBE115] |
