Unusual and elaborate Mouret globe-clock designed to show the position of the Sun over the Earth using a rotating 8-inch terrestrial globe. The globe is banded by a brass meridian and was manufactured by Maison Delamarche in Paris. The clock has an exposed brass mechanism and a white enamel face with roman numerals. It is held aloft by four silvered caryatids on a black marble base with gilt, clawed feet. It is unsigned, but attributed to Château Frères Paris. [GLOBE195] |
